Requirements & first steps

Up and running in a few minutes

ClaudeDeck drives your local Claude Code, so it needs a couple of tools on your machine. On first launch it runs a built-in health check that tells you exactly what's present and what's missing — no need to read any of this twice.

What you need

  • requiredClaude Code on your PATH, and signed in (claude --version, then claude once to log in).
  • requiredgit — isolated task branches (worktrees) and diffs rely on it.
  • for PRsGitHub CLI (gh), authenticated (gh auth login) — one-click “Open PR”.
  • Linuxcurl + notify-send for status hooks & desktop notifications (sudo apt install libnotify-bin curl).
  • optionaluv + the Jira skill and ~/.env.jira — to pull Jira tickets as tasks.

First run

  1. Install & open ClaudeDeck for your OS (below).
  2. The health check opens automatically — ✅ ok ⚠️ worth fixing — can't tell. Each item has a Fix where possible.
  3. Click Install notification hooks in that panel, then + New session and pick a project folder. That's it.

Everything runs locally. The only outbound traffic is auto-update and whatever you explicitly trigger (Claude, gh, Jira).
